Stems & Branches Examples
The classical diagnosis in Chinese Medicine relies mainly on observation and in-depth pulse diagnosis based on the principles of yin-yang and the five elements. The Stems and Branches method and the birth chart are not used to replace these classical methods of diagnosis. They serve as a type of “road map” towards analysis and comprehension of the diagnosis, through understanding the patient’s energetic makeup from birth, as expressed in the chart. Such knowledge permits for a more focused treatment principle and selection of points and herbs, along with recommendations for lifestyle and nutritional changes to treat and balance the root of the problem. Additionally, it enables the practitioner to rise above the so-often seen tendency in the clinic of continually chasing after the symptoms.
Such an approach towards treatment leads not only to healing of the current symptoms, but also to deterring similar symptoms from arising in the future.
In addition, one may use the information to understand the development of the disease or symptoms at a specific point in time in a lifetime through analysis of the date that the disease erupted, and comparing it to an analysis of the patient’s birthday. At even more advanced levels, it will be possible to anticipate energetically-sensitive periods in a person’s lifetime, and to prescribe genuine preventative medicine throughout his life.
The information on the chart is divided into:
Great movement, Stem, Branch, Climatic Quality (layer), Deep Energies Four Possibilities, Missing Elements, Missing Deep Energies and Missing Organs.
You can check the following examples:
A person who was born on February 20th 2005. A person who was born on May 14th 2004.
